Denmark is navigating a period of profound change. Geopolitical tensions, technological breakthroughs, climate change, emerging security threats and intensifying international competition are placing greater demands on society’s ability to act, adapt and withstand crises.
Against this backdrop, the financial sector plays a vital role—as it has for the past 200 years.
The financial sector finances investment and supports growth and innovation. It ensures that payments and savings operate effectively every day and helps individuals and businesses make informed financial decisions. At the same time, the sector forms part of the critical infrastructure on which society depends.
That is why Finance Denmark’s strategy for 2026–2030 is built around one overarching ambition:
We want to strengthen financial robustness
Financial robustness is about building a society that can generate growth in good times, manage crises in difficult times, and maintain trust between individuals, businesses and institutions. This requires a financial sector that is strong, responsible and capable of acting decisively.
As the business and employers’ organisation for the financial sector, Finance Denmark will bring the sector together around shared solutions and work to strengthen its contribution to society. We will be an active partner to policymakers, public authorities, businesses and organisations in addressing Denmark’s major challenges.
Financial security
Trust is the foundation of the financial system. Individuals and businesses should feel confident about their finances and be able to trust that financial solutions are safe, fair and efficient.
We therefore focus on:
Increasing financial inclusion and literacy
More investment in growth and societal transformation
Better housing for more people
Reducing financial crime and fraud
Our goal is a society in which more people have access to the economic opportunities created by a strong financial system - and in which trust in the sector is strengthened.
Financial agency
Denmark must be able to invest in the future. This requires access to capital, competitive framework conditions and a skilled workforce. A strong financial sector enables businesses to grow, create jobs and make the investments needed to support society’s development.
We therefore focus on:
Simpler rules and a level playing field
Strong capital markets and increased investment
An attractive and flexible labour market
Our goal is to strengthen Denmark’s ability to generate growth, innovation and prosperity in an increasingly competitive world.
Financial resilience
The world has become more uncertain. Cyber threats, hybrid attacks, technological dependencies and international conflicts are placing new demands on both the financial sector and Denmark’s overall preparedness.
We therefore focus on:
Future-ready critical financial infrastructure
Increased digital and financial sovereignty
Stronger sector-wide preparedness in close cooperation with public authorities and other stakeholders across society
Our goal is to ensure that financial systems continue to operate safely and reliably, even when society is under pressure.
The strategy sets the direction for Finance Denmark’s work through to 2030.
